Katarzyna Banaś
Lives and works in Wroclaw, Poland.
She studied painting, graphic art and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. A member of the Union of Polish Artists and Designers. Works in painting and graphic design.
Banaś has exhibited individually at institutions including Lindenau Gallery (Gdansk), Wroclaw Philharmonic (Wroclaw), Danish Cultural Institute (Warsaw), Platon Gallery (Wroclaw), Miejska Gallery (Wroclaw), Olga Santos Gallery (Porto), Galerie Bram (Hobro), Szalom Gallery (Krakow), City History Museum (Katowice), M Odwach (Wroclaw).
Among her group exhibitions are: Socato Gallery (Wroclaw), Syrlin Kunstverein (Stuttgart), Contemporary Museum (Wroclaw), Royal Castle (Warsaw), Krabbe Gallery (Malaga), Codan Forsikring (Copenhagen), The Brick Lane Gallery (London).
Statement:
''My artistic work has got two main inspirations, first is landscape, second is poetry - often these two interpenetrate while working on artistic projects. I work with abstract language, however the main thing to me is deep nature experience. I treat painting as a contemplation object, encoded one, that can be followed''.
